Song Selection

Picking the film's opening song is one of the toughest decisions that i've had to make while working on this project. I really wanted to set the right tone for the opening. I was looking through Vimeo online music store and searched for hours through the free tracks available and found absolutely nothing that sounded right.

I gave up and decided to just try some instrumental tracks like a soft piano or an acoustic guitar cover of a local band's song, but I stumbled upon an artist that I really seemed to like on the Spotify Application. His name is David Kilgour. The one song I decided to listen to seemed so right and I could picture the shots in place perfectly in my head. The song is called "Gold In Sound".

XOXO ???

I have some excited news for you all!
So to really explain the story in under two minutes and get my audience hooked, I've decided to add a ... KISS! The two female actresses i'm working with are good friends and gave the "okay" on a kissing scene. With the shots I have and with the quick edits, the scene will work just right. Get ready to see something good!

Hugs and kisses, friends!

The Technology Involved

At the beginning of the filming process, I was feeling really good about all the shots I was getting. The camera I've been using to film has been excellent and there have been zero problems while doing so. The camera i'm using is Canon PowerShot SX40 HS is a megapixel super-zoom camera with a massive 35x optical range. I realized that I would have to borrow someone's laptop in order to edit the footage. I've been using the Mac-Air in order to use Adobe Premiere Pro properly.

The footage is coming out really well and I'm so very excited to show the final product to you all!

Group Meeting

This week in my media class we all met in groups to discuss how our projects have been coming along. A student in my group asked me what my opening shots consisted of and honestly, I was having difficulty answering his question. My shots are all very different: there are a variety of low angles, point of view shots, mid shots of the two characters, and two establishing shots that i'm considering on using.

I told my group that I currently might not have enough shots to make it to the maximum time of two minutes. They suggested that I get more shots than I needed for the opening, which is something I intended on doing before. I plan on going to one of my filming locations later today to get just the right lighting and have more footage.
